Local business community encouraged to take part in Southend City Vision
We understand what it takes to launch and sustain a successful and innovative business – none of our customers rest on their laurels. The value of speaking up as a local business is the power to influence.
Now there’s a chance to bring the voice of the business community together to shape the future of Southend City.
Southend City Partnership is inviting everyone who lives, works, visits, studies or runs a business or organisation in Southend-on-Sea to take part in Southend City Vision. This is your chance to share your views and set a course for the next decade.
We know how important local businesses are in shaping the culture, vibe and community outcomes in their area so we’re supporting Southend City Vision.
The role of local businesses and entrepreneurs
Whether you’re a one-(wo)man band or a rapidly expanding enterprise, your views matter and, more importantly, make a difference:
1. Innovation catalysts
Local businesses and entrepreneurs are the heartbeat of any thriving community.
They’re the ones who turn ideas into reality, create jobs, and fill our streets with energy. From cosy cafes to tech startups, they’re the sparks that ignite progress.
2. Community anchors
Within the walls of Launchpad Southend, there are more than just businesses, there are people.
A smile, a conversation in the kitchenette, the offer of handy tips or a much needed listening ear – these are the things that create a community.
These are the connections that bring people together and help us all to thrive.
3. Job creators
When a startup hires its first employee or a small business expands, it’s not just about numbers – it’s about livelihoods.
Jobs mean stability, growth, and a chance for individuals to live a fulfilling life. By participating in the survey, businesses contribute to shaping those opportunities.
How you can make a difference
Don’t keep your views to yourself or grumble in the queue for a coffee, take your perspective and do something positive – make a difference.
There are lots of ways to get involved in Southend City Vision:
1. Take the Survey
The online survey is open until 22nd November but don’t put it off. It’s like a virtual coffee chat where you get to spill your thoughts on Southend’s future.
Grab a cuppa, click the link, and share your views: Southend City Vision Survey.
Paper copies of the survey are also available in locations across the city, including the Civic Centre, Southend Libraries and SAVS.
2. Tell your friends
The networking game is strong in Southend so if you’re an entrepreneur, chances are you know other entrepreneurs and business leaders.
Maybe you agree on what would make Southend a better place to do business…maybe you don’t!
Either way, those views are all important to capture in the mix so encourage others to get involved.
3. Added incentive
As if helping to make Southend a better place wasn’t incentive enough, there’s also a chance to win some great prizes.
Some of the prizes up for grabs include Sunday lunch for two at the Roslin Beach Hotel, or perhaps you prefer afternoon tea? There’s also hair and beauty treatments from Beauty Academy South Essex College of Further and Higher Education and family bowling at Kingpins Southend on offer.
Winners will be chosen randomly, so your voice might just lead to a nice surprise.
Together, we shape tomorrow
Tara Poore, Chair of the Southend City Partnership, said it best:
“This consultation is a unique opportunity for everyone in Southend to have their say.”
So, whether you’re a seasoned entrepreneur, a fresh-faced startup founder, or a local business owner, your perspective matters.
Let’s establish a vision for Southend that reflects our diverse community where families and businesses want to be.
