Over £600 raised for domestic abuse charity
Celebration event raises funds for charity and showcases impact on business, community, and employment.
Launchpad, the business innovation centre at Airport Business Park, Rochford, has marked its second anniversary with a celebration attended by over 100 guests, including Launchpad businesses, local councillors, and partners.
The event, which featured live entertainment and food from local vendors, also raised over £600 for local domestic abuse charity, Safe Steps, via a charity raffle.
Laura Johnson, Centre Manager at Launchpad, said:
“Over the past two years, we have built more than just a workspace; we have built a thriving community.
“A community where collaboration, innovation, and support are at the forefront of everything we do.
“We have seen countless ideas come to life, businesses grow, and friendships form within these walls.
“This is something we can all be immensely proud of.”
Since opening, Launchpad has achieved 100% occupancy and an impressive 100% customer satisfaction rate, a testament to the supportive and collaborative environment it fosters.
The centre is now home to 34 dynamic and growing businesses across a diverse range of sectors.
The centre has also played a pivotal role in supporting local employment, apprenticeships, internships, and work experience opportunities – working closely with local colleges and organisations to help develop practical skills and future career paths.
Supporting the wider community has remained a core value. Over the last two years, Launchpad has contributed to the third sector through donations of food, money, and services, and by creating opportunities for collaboration with charities and social enterprises.
In addition to being a physical workspace, Launchpad has established itself as a business support hub, hosting regular workshops, Catapult sessions, and networking events. These offerings equip businesses with the skills, strategies, and contacts they need to grow and succeed.
One of Launchpad’s defining qualities is the strong sense of community among its businesses, where peer collaboration, knowledge sharing, and mutual support have become the norm.
As it looks to the future, Launchpad is committed to continuing its work as a catalyst for innovation, collaboration, and inclusive local growth.
