Ethnic Minority led business networking

January 30 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Free

A friendly, supportive and productive monthly virtual networking meeting for ethnic minority entrepreneurs.

Event details

This is a regular opportunity to bring together ethnic minority-led businesses to network together, advise each other and build up contacts across the whole of the UK.

These focused events are a great option for ethnic minority led businesses who may be new to networking and looking for a friendly place to start, but also great for those with more networking experience who would like to grow their contacts within a community of inspiring business.

The monthly online networking session will feature a short 10-minute talk by an ethnic minority speaker – or someone who is an advocate for ethnic minority led businesses – before we go into breakout rooms so attendees can network with one another in a friendly and supportive environment.

Hosted by Jason Roberts, Founder and CEO of Kaleida International.

Hailing from Brixton, South London, after 24 years working in the financial services industry in both banking, and sales, Jason was frequently reminded of his diverse identity. From the lack of representation in boardrooms, to being made aware that his 6’ 5” frame was intimidating, he experienced prejudice, bias and discrimination that impacted opportunities.

In 2021, Jason launched Kaleida International, a fully-inclusive, B2B marketplace for tenders focused on helping buyers find, assess and invite diverse suppliers to tender. A father to two daughters, Jason enjoys golf, long walks and has a passion for yachting.

During the bi-monthly events, you will get a chance to:

  • Hear from a variety of speakers during the ‘in conversation with’ discussions a member of the ethnic minority community
  • Network and engage with fellow business owners during breakout room sessions.
  • Explore how we can support our community moving forward and drive FSB’s Equality Diversity and Inclusion agenda.

These virtual networking meetings are part of the FSB’s ongoing campaign which aims to encourage inclusive, supportive workplaces and offer advice for the country’s army of ethnic minority led entrepreneurs.

This month, we are delighted to welcome our guest speakers, Dr. Isaac Enakimio and Dr Blessing Enakimio, who will talk about the Empower Gala – Celebrating Excellence, Cultural Heritage and Community Impact.

Empower Gala is Kent’s premier event celebrating cultural heritage, leadership and outstanding achievements across the public, private and charity sectors. This annual gathering honours visionaries and change makers driving meaningful impact in their communities and industries.Central to Empower Gala is its commitment to community engagement, inviting nominations for its prestigious Recognition Awards. This inclusive approach ensures the spotlight shines on unsung heroes and leaders making a difference at every level.

The event aligns with global priorities like the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 17) Partnerships for the Goals.
