As part of Cyber Security Awareness Month, Sunrise Technologies is hosting a Cyber Security Live Event, a free, practical half-day event designed for business owners, directors, managers and team members who want to better understand today’s cyber risks and what they can do about them.

This isn’t a morning of highly technical presentations. We’ll look at cyber security from a practical, real-world perspective, from the threats currently facing businesses and the risks surrounding personal information, through to what actually happens when ransomware strikes.

You’ll hear from the Eastern Cyber Resilience Centre (ECRC) about the current cyber threat landscape and the practical steps organisations can take to reduce their risk.

Essex Police will then explore the use and protection of personal data before putting attendees to the test with an interactive, escape-room-style challenge. It’s a fun, hands-on way to see just how easily seemingly innocent pieces of information can become valuable to a criminal.

Finally, we’ll look at one of the biggest questions businesses face following a serious cyber incident:

In our final main session, Kaseya will demonstrate how properly designed backup and recovery can help a business recover from ransomware. We’ll look beyond simply “having a backup” and explore what recovery really means when systems and data are unavailable, including real-world insights into the ransomware recovery process.
