How Catapult helped Remedy Digital find new opportunities for growth
When you’re running a small business, having someone to share ideas with can make a big difference.
For Austin Sweetman, founder of Remedy.Digital, Launchpad’s Catapult programme has provided fresh perspectives, valuable connections and the confidence to explore new opportunities for his business.
Remedy.Digital helps sole traders and small businesses with digital marketing, from websites and email marketing to automation and marketing technology.
Like many small business owners, Austin is used to making decisions and finding solutions independently. But working on your own can make it difficult to see things from a different perspective or know which direction to take next.
That’s where Launchpad’s Catapult programme has made a difference.
Learning from other business owners
Austin joined Catapult to explore how he could take Remedy.Digital forward.
The programme gave him the opportunity to spend time with other business owners, share experiences and learn from the different ways they approach running and growing their businesses.
“Catapult has been instrumental in helping me understand how I can take my business forward by learning and working with other business owners,” explains Austin.
For him, the value wasn’t simply about gaining new knowledge. It was about stepping outside the day-to-day demands of running his business and hearing different perspectives.
Understanding how other businesses operate, the challenges they face and the decisions they make has helped Austin look at his own business differently.
And those conversations have already influenced his plans for the future.
Turning new perspectives into new opportunities
One of the most significant outcomes of Austin’s Catapult experience has been the opportunity to think about how Remedy.Digital could evolve.
Through discussions with other business owners, Austin began exploring ways to diversify his services and respond to changes in the digital marketing industry.
In particular, he’s identified a growing opportunity around artificial intelligence (AI) and business automation.
As more small businesses look for ways to save time, simplify processes and work more efficiently, Austin sees potential to use his technical expertise to help them make better use of these technologies.
It’s an area he’s now considering as part of Remedy.Digital’s next stage of development.
Rather than simply continuing with business as usual, Catapult has encouraged him to look ahead, consider where the market is heading and think about how his business can respond.
From conversations to collaboration
Catapult has also created opportunities for Austin to connect with other business owners whose skills complement his own.
One particularly valuable connection has been withMichelle Marketing, another business represented on the programme.
While Michelle specialises in marketing strategy, Remedy Digital focuses on the technical side of marketing, including digital platforms and automation.
Through conversations during and following Catapult, they recognised how their different areas of expertise could work together.
The two businesses have since formed a partnership and are exploring ways to support each other and their clients.
It’s a practical example of how bringing business owners together can lead to opportunities that might not otherwise happen.
For Austin, the benefits of Catapult have extended beyond the programme itself, creating relationships that can continue to support his business as it develops.
Business support that makes a difference
Austin’s Catapult experience is part of a wider relationship with Launchpad.
He originally joined the centre after working from home and missing the everyday interaction that comes from being around other people.
After trying the coworking space for a day, he decided to make Launchpad his regular business base.
Since then, he’s benefited from the centre’s business support, including one-to-one guidance to help him work through challenges, consider his options and identify practical steps towards growth.
“Being a small business owner, sometimes it’s quite difficult when you’re on your own. You don’t have others to bounce ideas off,” says Austin.
Having access to experienced business support has helped him gain clarity about the direction he wants to take, while being part of Launchpad has introduced him to other businesses and potential customers.
Austin has now worked with around four or five businesses based at the centre, supporting them with services including website improvements, email marketing and automation.
These opportunities have contributed to Remedy Digital’s growth and demonstrate the additional value of being part of a connected business community.
What’s next for Remedy Digital?
Austin is now looking at how to build on what he’s learned through Catapult, particularly the potential to expand Remedy Digital’s services into AI and business automation.
He’s also continuing to develop the relationships and partnerships formed through the programme and the wider Launchpad community.
For Austin, Catapult has been more than an opportunity to meet other business owners. It’s helped him look at his business from a different angle, recognise opportunities for development and make connections that could play an important part in its future.
His experience is a reminder that growing a business doesn’t mean having to work everything out alone.
Sometimes, a different perspective or a conversation with the right person is all it takes to see what could come next.
